Open Shelter Home for CNCP Children

Mercy Rehabilitation Society has been running open shelter for children in need in urban area under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), a centrally sponsored scheme of government–civil society partnership of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India since 2015-16.

The specific objectives of Shelter Home are as follows:

  • To provide essential services to missing, homeless and orphan children.
  • To enhance capacities of persons who involved in service delivery
  • To create database and knowledge base for child protection services.
  • To strengthen child protection at family and community level
  • To coordinate and network with government institutions and non-government institutions to ensure effective implementation of
  • shelter home.

Rehabilitation of these children is purpose of open shelter home. 122 such children got benefited with shelter home and they returned to their home. Counselling sessions were conducted for their parents.
